Hey guys, the Autistic Sports Nerd here.
After the Thunder blew big leads in games four and five, the Mavericks advance to the NBA Finals. The Bulls could not provide enough offense and their collapse in game five as well as LeBron's clutch play has propelled the Heat to the NBA Finals. The Heat and Mavericks meet again in the NBA Finals. The Heat rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat Dallas back in 2006.
This is a very intriguing series. After years of underachieving in the playoffs, the Mavericks look to finally win a ring. LeBron is also desperate to win his first ring. Remember earlier this season when Mavericks' Owner Mark Cuban criticized the Heat for being too soft in the paint? Will those words come back to bite him?
I think the Mavericks have a more balanced team. think Dallas will win it in seven games.
NHL
The Canucks beat the Sharks in five games to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1994. Their Game Five double overtime victory came on the seventeenth anniversary of their double overtime victory in Toronto to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. They will play the winner of tonight's Game Seven between the Lightning and the Bruins. I think the Bruins will win tonight's game. Either way, will the Canucks be the first Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup since 1993?
There is speculation that the Atlanta Thrashers will move to Winnipeg and we will see the return of the Winnipeg Jets. That would be awesome. If so, the Jets who play in Western Canada would play in the United States Southeastern division. That would not make sense but we should be grateful of a potential Jets' return.
MLB
I watched the Phillies/Reds game the other night and it took nineteen innings for there to be a winner. It was a great game. In the nineteenth inning we had a position player pitching to a relief pitcher. Very Bizarre. The Phillies won it in the bottom frame on a Sacrifice Fly and Wilson Valdez gets credited with the win. What a game.
Tomorrow I am going to analyze and debate to myself whether inter-league baseball should still exist. I will post it on here tomorrow morning.
Horse Racing
At the same time the world was "suppose to end" we learned that Animal Kingdom (who won the Kingdom (who won the Kentucky Derby) came just short of winning the Preakness so there will be no Triple Crown winner for at least another year. Oh well, it's not the end of the world (figuratively and literally).
I'm the Autistic Sports Nerd, have a good day guys.

Tribute to Macho Man Randy Savage
Hey guys, the Autistic Sports Nerd here.
Last week, Randy "Macho Man" Savage passed away. He was one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. He had great charisma and wrestling ability.
On March 29th 1987, Macho Man defended his Intercontinental title against Ricky "Steamboat" Dragon at WrestleMania III. Most people remember WrestleMania III for Hulk Hogan against Andre the Giant with the image of Hogan body slamming Andre. However, it was Macho Man and Steamboat that stole the show. It is considered one of the greatest wrestling matches of all time. I saw the match just now on the internet and I have to agree with the masses. It was a great match.
Steamboat won the match and ended Macho Man's 14 month reign as Intercontinental Champion. I doubt anyone in this day and age will hold the Intercontinental title for that long.
When I went to my first ever wrestling event (WCW Monday Nitro on June 15th 1998) Macho man wrestled in the Main Event against Diamond Dallas Page in a Steel Cage match. It was a great experience and it was actually his last appearance on television for over ten months due to an injury.
Macho Man along with Hulk Hogan are two of the only known wrestlers in history that everyone knows who they are. Even people who have never watched wrestling before know who Macho Man Randy Savage is. His signature "Ooooohh Yeeeeah" had everyone saying that and became a very popular catchphrase. Macho Man must have a very strong throat because whenever I try doing that in his voice, my throat always ends up hurting.
Sadly, Macho Man still hasn't been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. He and Vince McMahon were on bad terms for years which is why Macho Man hasn't been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Things slowly got better between the two and the WWE released a D.V.D about Macho Man, a positive one.
C.M Punk has been saluting Macho Man during Punk's matches by wearing Macho Man's colors and writing the words "Macho Man" on his taped hands. Very classy by C.M Punk.
Unfortunately, we'll never hear Macho Man's induction speech. Hopefully McMahon will grow up and induct Macho Man in this year. He deserves it. The WWE did do a nice three and a half minute video tribute to Macho man this past Monday night on Raw which the fans in the arena responded by giving it a standing ovation and chants of "Macho Man" were heard.
Jerry "The King" Lawler said it best this past Monday. "The Macho Man is a Hall of Famer no matter what." He is a Hall of Famer to me as well.
Rest in Peace Macho Man, we will all miss you.

The Autistic Sports Nerd #101
Hey guys, the Autistic Sports Nerd here and two years ago today, I wrote my very first blog post.
Well, I graduated from Utica College and now I am an alumnus. Graduate School begins at the end of August.
NBA
Going into the Conference Finals, I had the Bulls beating the Heat in seven. I had the Thunder upsetting the Mavericks in six. The Bulls and Mavericks won game one of their respective series. I'm still in a state of shock that the Mavericks swept the Lakers to end Phil Jackson's coaching career. The Celtics-Heat series went a lot shorter than I expected it to. Despite a valiant effort by the Grizzlies, the Thunder got by them in the deciding seventh game.
Could this be the year the Mavericks get over the hump and win the NBA Championship? Will the Bulls return to their former glory by winning the NBA Championship? Will the Thunder be the youngest team to ever win the Championship? Will LeBron finally get a ring? Stay tuned for scenes from the next episode of Basket Ball Z.
NHL
The Capitals got swept by the Lightning? One word: Irony
The Bruins avenging last year's collapse by sweeping the Flyers? One word: Revenge
I've always said that there are three guaranteed things in life: Death, taxes, and the San Jose Sharks choking in the playoffs.
They almost did in the Conference Semi-Finals by Detroit forcing a Game Seven after San Jose had a 3-0 series lead. The Sharks were able to win the seventh game but trail the Canucks(who beat the Predators in six during in the Conference Semi-Finals) 1-0 in the Western Conference Finals. Going into the series, I had the Canucks winning in seven.
The Bruins and Lightning split the first two games of the series in Boston. I still think the Bruins will win this series in six games. A Bruins-Canucks Stanley Cup Final would be a great one if it happens. Two teams with great goaltending and defense equals a great series.
MLB
There was a lot of drama regarding the New York Yankees this week. Not just the losing streak or getting swept by Boston but Jorge Posada. Posada took himself out of the lineup after refusing to bat ninth in the lineup. Supposedly things got ugly between him and Joe Giradi. Hopefully that is now in the past since Posada was in the lineup last night and went two for three as the Yankees finally snapped their six game losing streak by beating the Ray in Tampa Bay.
The Rangers will play the Flyers in next year's Winter Classic at Citizens Bank Park (home of the Phillies) on January 2nd according to sources. I'm assuming the reason why the game isn't being played on New Year's Day is because New Year's Day falls on a Sunday next year and they didn't want that competing with NFL Football. The Irony is that the NFL might not even have a season next year.
Tragedy struck this week.
R.I.P Harmon Killebrew, one of the greatest hitters of all time. He died after a long battle with cancer. R.I.P Derek Boogaard who was the enforcer from the New York Rangers. His cause of death is still unknown or hasn't been revealed.

The 100th Autistic Sports Nerd Blog Post
Hey guys, the Autistic Sports Nerd here.......
This is it, this is the last thing I am ever going to write for the Tangerine. This is also the 100th Autistic Sports Nerd's blog post I have written.
Since this is my last run here at Utica College, I am going to dedicate this week's column to everyone involved here at Utica College.
I want to thank everyone for making me feel welcomed here. My first year here was the first time I ever socialized with people and made friends outside of the classroom. I hit a few bumps in the road but I recovered and learned from the mistakes I made.
I want to thank the Hockey team for asking and letting me join their team. Filming the games and traveling with them for four years was a great experience for me and the Hockey team became like my second family.
I also had the privilege of filming Utica College Lacrosse, Soccer, Field Hockey, and Football games at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium. I also had the honor to keep score of the UC Baseball games my senior year.
Intramural sports played a huge role in my campus life. I always wanted to play sports but was afraid I wasn't good enough. My freshman year I started playing Intramural Basketball, Flag Football, Indoor Volleyball, Beach Volleyball, Wallyball, Dodgeball, Floor Hockey, Indoor Soccer, Winter Softball, Wiffle Ball Tennis, Bowling, and Racquetball. Playing in those games were loads of fun.
Something that will always stick with me is the fact that I was a part of two intramural wiffle ball championship teams. One for Team Autism and one with my hockey teammates to close out my intramural career.
I founded the Autism Awareness Club and the eventually the Utica College Disability and Disorder Society. I wanted to let people know what autism was about and the other disabilities and disorders that are out there. I am amazed that the people here on campus supported our clubs 100% and I am glad that Autism Awareness as well as awareness for Disabilities and Disorders have a foundation here on campus. Thank you guys so much.
When I was diagnosed with Autism when I was three years old, I was not able to speak a single word. People didn't think I was ever going to be able to speak nor be able to get a regular education. Here in 2011, I am on the verge of walking across that stage and getting my college degree.
Don't let any limitations or circumstances get you down, anything's possible. Work hard, believe in yourself, and you will succeed.
Well guys, I'm leaving. I am going to Graduate School in Manhattanville. My time here is up. However, I will always be a Pioneer.
Take care guys and good luck!
Heck, just one more time!-I'm the Autistic Sports Nerd, have a good day guys!

9/11 And Sports
Hey guys, the Autistic Sports Nerd here.
Osama bin Laden is dead. I'll never forget 9/11. I'm going to make this sports related. Obviously, sports shouldn't compare to the tragedy of 9/11 but this is a sports blog and I am not even going to attempt to talk about politics.
On September 21st, the Mets played the Braves in the first game of any kind played in New York since the tragedy took place and Mike Piazza gave New Yorkers a small dose of excitement when he hit his game winning home run against the Braves. That was an awesome moment.
In 2001, games three, four, and five of the World Series at Yankee Stadium as the Yankees battled the Arizona Diamondbacks. George W. Bush threw out the ceremonial first pitch of game three and threw a perfect strike on the outside corner. Those were great games and the Yankees won all three of them in thrilling fashion. Although the Yankees fell short in seven games, that still remains to be the greatest World Series I have ever seen.
Football played a role too. Remember when the Giants and Jets both won on the road in the first football games played after 9/11?
It meant a lot to me when fans from places like Chicago and even Boston held signs saying "We love New York". It just goes to show you that these fans are proud Americans and sports fans from all over the country will unite to show respect and patriotism. Speaking of Patriotism, how about the underdog New England Patriots winning the First Super Bowl after 9/11 over the St. Louis Rams via a last second Field Goal by Adam Vinatieri?
I'm glad the Giants and Jets aren't playing each other on the ten year anniversary of 9/11 because it's like what my friend on Facebook said, New Yorkers need to be united, not against each other on this upcoming day. Instead, the NFL went with perfect match-ups for the situation. The New York Jets hosting "America's Team" the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants playing against the Washington Redskins at the Nation's Capital.
It was awesome that after Osama bin Laden's death, Phillies' fans (in a game vs. the New York Mets in Philly where the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence was created) chanted "U.S.A, U.S.A!"
I'm the Autistic Sports Nerd and I am proud to be an American.
