Hey guys, the Autistic Sports Nerd here.
After the Thunder blew big leads in games four and five, the Mavericks advance to the NBA Finals. The Bulls could not provide enough offense and their collapse in game five as well as LeBron's clutch play has propelled the Heat to the NBA Finals. The Heat and Mavericks meet again in the NBA Finals. The Heat rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat Dallas back in 2006.
This is a very intriguing series. After years of underachieving in the playoffs, the Mavericks look to finally win a ring. LeBron is also desperate to win his first ring. Remember earlier this season when Mavericks' Owner Mark Cuban criticized the Heat for being too soft in the paint? Will those words come back to bite him?
I think the Mavericks have a more balanced team. think Dallas will win it in seven games.
NHL
The Canucks beat the Sharks in five games to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1994. Their Game Five double overtime victory came on the seventeenth anniversary of their double overtime victory in Toronto to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. They will play the winner of tonight's Game Seven between the Lightning and the Bruins. I think the Bruins will win tonight's game. Either way, will the Canucks be the first Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup since 1993?
There is speculation that the Atlanta Thrashers will move to Winnipeg and we will see the return of the Winnipeg Jets. That would be awesome. If so, the Jets who play in Western Canada would play in the United States Southeastern division. That would not make sense but we should be grateful of a potential Jets' return.
MLB
I watched the Phillies/Reds game the other night and it took nineteen innings for there to be a winner. It was a great game. In the nineteenth inning we had a position player pitching to a relief pitcher. Very Bizarre. The Phillies won it in the bottom frame on a Sacrifice Fly and Wilson Valdez gets credited with the win. What a game.
Tomorrow I am going to analyze and debate to myself whether inter-league baseball should still exist. I will post it on here tomorrow morning.
Horse Racing
At the same time the world was "suppose to end" we learned that Animal Kingdom (who won the Kingdom (who won the Kentucky Derby) came just short of winning the Preakness so there will be no Triple Crown winner for at least another year. Oh well, it's not the end of the world (figuratively and literally).
I'm the Autistic Sports Nerd, have a good day guys.
