Hey guys, the Autistic Sports Nerd here! This is the 52nd edition of my blog. I am posting this a few days early because I have heard a "rumor" that will cause everyone to gasp in horror and become very angry.
Tiger Woods and his wife have been getting a lot of attention over the past couple of months because Tiger has been cheating on his wife with a lot of women. I have refused to cover this in my blog because this is a SPORTS blog, not an "Entertainment Tonight" blog. Unfortunately, I heard such a horrible rumor from my mom, it has to be acknowledged. I have to write about this. This is so horrible, my body is tingling with fear and disgust.
The rumor is (Oh boy) that Tiger Woods' wife is cheating on Tiger. (Were they still together? I don't care) Tiger's wife is seeing............Brett Favre.
NOOOOOOOOOO.........FAAAAVREEEE!!!!!!
Is this what you are willing to do to get the publicity? Were you too bored with the pondering retirement angle? Apparently, Tiger's wife may have been embarrassed and she is getting her revenge on us all...and Tiger.
Gee, thanks Tiger! It's just a rumor from the Daily News Website. (I hope it was their April Fool's Edition one month late) If it is, it's even worse than MY April Fool's Article and that's saying a lot.
Favre..I have had it with you. I just heard on ESPN that you will need surgery to play in 2010. You are once again hogging the spotlight all over the place. If this rumor escalates, we will see this story not only on the Sports' channels but channels of all kinds all over the television. Favre will take over the entire Media!! We may see nothing on television except for Favre and the wife of Tiger for months!! We're doomed!
NHL
On to happier news, I called Montreal upsetting the Capitals in seven and that is what happened. Pittsburgh should be able to beat Montreal quickly because Pittsburgh is just as good as scoring as Washington is but they are better defensively and between the pipes than Washington. Montreal, your luck runs out here.
NBA
I also called the Spurs upsetting the Mavericks and they did. Man, the Mavericks are the San Jose Sharks of the NBA. They have great Regular Seasons but always blow it in the Playoffs.
The Thunder are currently putting up a great fight with the Lakers. I hope the Thunder can upset them. It would be a great story. The NBA may not like it, but I would.
MLB
The Mets are a team on a mission. They just blew out the Phillies earlier tonight. They are on a roll.
Over in the American League, the Rays have been tearing it up too. They are going to be a tough team to beat.
Camden Yards is a beautiful ballpark. I watched the Yankees play on my Birthday in August of 2003, they won 8-5. However, the attendance is always low. The Orioles have been severely struggling for years. Watching a Yankee game at Camden Yards the other night, there were a lot of empty seats.
Not only were there empty seats, but the only fans you could hear were Yankees' fans. They were loud and vocal throughout the game. Not an Orioles' fan to be heard.
There have always been a lot of Yankees' fans who make the trip to Camden Yards but at least the place would always be sold out when the Yankees come to town. Now, not even the Yankees could help. It's such a shame. Camden Yards is a great ballpark.
Team Autism
Team Autism tried to defend their Intramural Whiffleball Championship, but we fell to the Men's Hockey Team 9-1 in the First Round...Mercy Ruled in the second to last inning. Eric Peterson hit a Grand Slam to basically seal our fate. Matt Fitzgibbons was on the mound and he completely shut us down.
I feel bad. I have been a part six intramural championship teams over the course of the first two years I have been here. In our first full year of the Team Autism Franchise, it was also the first full year that I haven't been a part of an Intramural Championship team.
We did win one in whiffleball last year but I feel that ever since I made our team "Autism" I have been performing under par. Hopefully next year, we can nab a few Championships for Autism Awareness.
I want to thank every individual who played an Intramural game for Team Autism. I really appreciate it. A lot of individuals have played for Team Autism. Thank you guys so much! By the way tonight, April 30th, was the one year anniversary of Team Autism winning the Intramural Whiffleball Championship. Happy Anniversary guys!!
Tangerine
This is the final Edition that will appear in the Tangerine until the Fall. I want to thank Jonathan Monfiletto, Patty Louise, and the rest of the Tangerine Staff for putting my columns in the Tangerine. I also want to thank them for putting Autism Awareness Poems in all of the Tangerine Issues during the month of April. I didn't write the poems or publish them, this was a huge surprise for me. Thank you Tangerine so much!
I won't have the next edition posted until May 18th. I need to concentrate on Finals. May 18th will be the One Year Anniversary Special.
I'm the Autistic Sports Nerd, have a good night guys!!

The Autistic Sports Nerd's Blog #51
Hey guys, the Autistic Sports Nerd here and the Playoffs for both the NBA and NHL are continuing. Let's get right into it.
NHL
The Detroit Red Wings were able to beat the Coyotes in the Seventh and decisive game on the road. I give the Coyotes a lot of credit. Although they were blown out in Game 7, they made the playoffs and forced a Game 7 with the dynastic Red Wings after all the ownership questions and potential relocation of the team. The Coyotes were a laughing stock in the off-season but they were not only able to make the playoffs but they had home ice advantage and it took seven games for the Red Wings to beat them while I thought the series would end in a sweep.
In the Autistic Ssports Nerd Nostalgic match-up, the Canucks defeat the Kings in six games and will take on the Blackhawks in the next round as they survived against the Predators in six games. The Sharks who beat the Avalanche in six, draws Detroit for the next round.
In the Eastern Conference, the Canadians have forced a Game 7 over the President Trophy winning Capitals after being down three games to one. If only Montreal would have hung on in Game 2. I originally had the Canadians for the upset in seven games and I will stick by it.
The Flyers crush the Devils in five games. Wow....when the Devils acquired Kovalchuck, I thought they would be the front runners to win the Stanley Cup but I was wrong.
The Penguins lost an multi-overtime thriller to the Senators in Game 5 at Pittsburgh but clinched the series on Ottawa during Game 6 in another overtime thriller.
The Bruins upset the Sabres in six games. So may upsets and close contests as usual in the NHL Playoffs. Those are what make the NHL Playoffs the best playoffs in all of professional sports.
NBA
The Cavs were able to get by the Bulls in five. The Thunder upset the Lakers in Games 3 and 4 at home but the Lakers held serve themselves by winning Game 5.
The Magic swept the Bobcats while the Heat lost to the Celtics in five. The Hawks and the Bucks are evened up at two games a piece.
I will pick the Celtics to defeat the Cavs in six games, you heard it here first.
The Spurs who I picked to win their series, currently have a three games to two lead over the Mavericks.
The Jazz are up three games to one over the Nuggets while the Suns are up 3-2 over the Blazers.
Stay tuned.....
MLB
The Yankees have entered in their first slump of the season. They have lost four out of their last five games including their first series lost at Anaheim against the Los Angeles (Really Angels, which city do you represent?) Angels. The Yankees may have defeated the Angels in the ALCS last year but they still have issues playing them in Southern California. The Angels did take two out of three from the Yankees in Anaheim in the ALCS. The Yankees were fortunate to have home field advantage and being able to hold serve in the Bronx.
Maybe I am looking too much into this but at least the Yankees got over the hump against the Angels last year in the ALCS. Luckily, the Yankees have been good at home against the Angels and in general.
The Mets are heating up. They swept the Dodgers in a double header and they swept the Braves. It seems that the Mets have turned the corner now that they are healthy and that they will have a great year after all. I think after this coming Sunday, the Mets would have played in three consecutive MLB ESPN Sunday Night Game of the Weeks. ESPN must love the Mets as much as my dad's side of the family.
NFL
The NFL Draft took place. I felt the Giants had a great draft but I heard that Buffalo and Jacksonville did not. Tim Tebow is a Bronco while Jimmy Clausen of Notre Dame is a Carolina Panther.
Speaking of Panthers, the Giants will hos the Panthers in their very first regular season at the new stadium which is such a strange coincidence because the Panthers HUMILIATED the Giants in the Giants' last regular season game at the old stadium. Revenge? I hope so.
Water Polo
Utica College and the Utica College Water Polo team hosted the very first NCAA Division III tournament in the history of Water Polo. This is also the first NCAA tournament of any kind that Utica College has hosted.
People were packed in the bleachers above the pool. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to see any of the Utica College games but I did see a couple of games among the eight other teams that competed in the tournament. It's a fun sport to watch and a really tough sport to play. Talking to member of the Utica College Water Polo team, they strongly felt that this event was a HUGE success.
A Pair of Three Mile Runs
This past weekend, I did back-to-back three mile runs. Let's just say that I let myself go a bit ever since I did that 18 mile run so I was determined to train and get back in shape. The first run was Shepard's run organized by Kristyn Galbraith and the Pre-Med Club. All money paid for went to benefit Children with Emotional need. It was a hard course to run because it was uphill and wide turns while running uphill but it was also a fun run.
The next day, Ulziimaa and I went to Hamilton College where Coach Heenan went to college and played hockey. This was for the AIDS Hike where all money donated would be used to fight AIDS. Ulziimaa and I helped set up the event, I did my three mile run, and we helped take stuff down. It was a huge turnout.
I ran the three miles in exactly twenty-five minutes on the dot and averaged 8:03 per mile, my best run yet. Over $34,000 total was donated and collected to help fight against AIDS.

The Autistic Sports Nerd's 50th Post
Hey guys, the Autistic Sports Nerd here! Wow, this is the 50th post I have done. I can't believe it...
Anyway, I was originally going to wait until next week to do it since I just did one this past Saturday but since A lot is going on, I will have a post for this one as well.
NHL Playoffs
All Eight NHL First Round Playoff Match-ups had splits in the first two games of the series. That's just incredible. It just goes to show you how competitive the NHL Playoffs really are. All Sixteen teams legitimately have a shot to win it all.
After rallying for an overtime victory in Game 2, the Capitals dominate the Capitals on the road in Game 3, blowing them out.
Philly won an Overtime thriller over New Jersey at home in Game 3. They are now up Two games to One.
The Bruins, another lower seed in their match, has a two games to one lead over Buffalo.
Over in the West, A player on the Sharks (Dan Boyle) accidentally shot the puck in his own net in overtime to lose the game for the Sharks and a victory for the Avalanche. It was because of a small deflection that caused the puck to go in the net instead of it being a pass. I blame San Jose's goalie rather than Boyle. He should have stopped the puck. He gave Boyle a dark stare after the game. Hey buddy, don't blame Boyle, blame yourself. The #1 Seed Sharks are down Two games to One to the #8 Seed Avalanche.
NBA
The Cavs are already up two games to nothing over the Bulls. The Mavericks are up one game to nothing over the Spurs. The Lakers are cruising.
I don't think the Cavs will make it to the NBA Finals. I think it will come down to the Lakers vs. the Celtics. The NBA is of course fantasizing a Lakers-Cavs match-up...oh sorry, a "Kobe vs. Lebron" match-up in the NBA Finals. Hehe, If it's Cavs-Lakers in the Finals the NBA could also hype Shaq vs. Kobe. I hope the Lakers and Cavs DON'T play each other in the Finals.
MLB
The Mets and the Cardinals went Twenty innings last Saturday afternoon. Wow...what a marathon! The Mets ended up winning that Iron-man contest 2-1. The game was scoreless going into the 19th inning. Hey, who said the Mets don't have any pitching?
The Red Sox lost all four games to Tampa Bay at Fenway Park. Man, Tampa Bay is on a roll. I believe they currently have the best record in the Majors. Grant it, it's way too early to talk about stuff like that but I think the Rays are for real and I admit, I do believe the Red Sox will turn it around.
The Yankees, who are notorious for getting off to slow starts over the years, are off to a fast start. As I write this, they are currently 9-3. They have won every series so far this year. Two series at Boston and Tampa Bay (Tampa has only lost once outside of the Yankees) two out of three they took from the Angels at home and just swept Texas out of the Stadium. By the way, I'm so glad the Yankees hosted the Angels in their home opener so Matsui was able to get his ring in person
Keep in mind, Texiera and A-Rod have not heated up yet. My Uncle Stephen, Aunt Mary, and Cousin Dana were talking about it with me while they were up here this past weekend.
You know, over the years I always cringe when I hear that all nine Yankee hitters in the line-up are on a hot streak. I get really nervous because if they are all on a hot streak now, that means that they will all go into a slump at the same time and that could cause you a stretch of games. Always better to have a few slumps in the lineup.
That's how the Yankees are operating right now and they are off to a great start.
Utica College Water Polo
Don't forget folks, the Division III Championships for Water Polo will take place this weekend at the Pool. Nineteen teams will compete in nine games over the weekend. The pool will be decorated and there will be concessions.
Utica College plays their first game on Friday April 23rd, at 9:00 am. Be there or watch me get angry!! (just kidding but still be there!)
Utica College Track and Field
Congratulations to Lauren Penc for being named the Female Track Athlete of the Meet at the Empire 8 Championships in the Rochester Institute of Technology's Track and Field. This is a great sign for the Utica College Track and Field Team who is in its first year as an Athletic Program at Utica College. They are off to a great start.
Utica College Football's Spring Practice
The Utica College Football team is holding their Spring Practices this week so be sure to check it out and watch some football!
Utica College Lacrosse
Both the Men's and Women's Lacrosse Team at Utica College are turning their respective seasons around. Both the Men and the Women are on a winning streak and are earning key conference victories on the road. Hopefully the two lacrosse teams can keep it up. Lacrosse is really a fun sport to watch! I have cousins in Long Island who play it.
NCAA Division I Hockey
RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) is a Division III team that plays in the Empire 8 just like Utica College. They are our rivals. In Hockey, they played in the ECAC West Conference just like our Hockey team. We played each other all the time during our first few years as a Hockey Program. A couple years before my Freshman Year at Utica College, the RIT Hockey team actually became a Division I team. (They are still Division III and in our conference for most of the other sports.)
This year, they made it all the way to the Frozen Four. It was weird hearing their name on ESPN and MSG. They lost to Wisconsin in the Semi-Finals who went on to lose to Boston College. Boston College won the National Championship in Division I Hockey.
Wrestling
WWE RAW wrestlers are currently stranded in Belfast Norther Ireland because of a Volcano eruption. They couldn't make it to RAW tonight which took place at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. WWE RAW was doing an international Tour in Europe before the eruption took place.
As an alternate for the fans of New Jersey, the WWE Smackdown Wrestlers performed on RAW instead. (Along with a couple of RAW wrestlers who weren't on that trip.)
Vince McMahon: Autistic Sports Nerd, we (The WWE) do not call our Performers "Wrestlers", we call them, "SUPER-STARS"
Autistic Sports Nerd: Shut up McMahon!
TNA Impact had a great show tonight. Rob Van Dam defeated Jeff Hardy to earn the right to face AJ Styles for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. That match took place later in the show and Rob Van Dam defeated AJ Styles to win the title. Hogan and the other super-stars came to celebrate with Van Dam. I truly marked out when Van Dam won the title.
Person #1: Autistic Sports Nerd, what does "Marking Out" mean?
Person #2: Autistic Sports Nerd, wrestling is not a sport!
Vince McMahon: How dare you say that TNA was a great show!!??
Person #3: Wrestling is fake!!
*sigh*.....on the bright side, 50 posts are in the books!
I'm the Autistic Sports Nerd, have a good night guys!
Anyway, I was originally going to wait until next week to do it since I just did one this past Saturday but since A lot is going on, I will have a post for this one as well.

The Autistic Sports Nerd's Blog #49
Language: English (change)
Hey guys, the Autistic Sports Nerd here, and I am posting this week's blog a few day early just so I can get my NBA First Round Playoff Picks. Let's waste no time and get into it.
NBA First Round
Eastern Conference
#8 Bulls vs. #1 Cavs
The NBA is already dreaming of a Cavs-Lakers NBA Finals. I predict the Cavs will get off to a great start and sweep the Bulls in the First Round.
#7 Bobcats vs.#2 Magic
The Magic are your defending Eastern Conference Champions while the Bobcats have no playoff experience. I like the Magic in a sweep.
#6 Heat vs. #3 Celtics
The Heat are a very talented team while the Celtics are a dominating one. This should be a fun series to watch but I will take the Celtics in Six.
#5 Bucks vs. #4 Hawks
These two team are on the rise. This should be an exciting series. I will take the Hawks in the deciding Game 7.
Western Conference
#8 Thunder vs. #1 Lakers
The Thunder are a young team and the Lakers are the Defending Champions. I think the Thunder will be play well but I like the Lakers in Five.
#7 Spurs vs. #2 Mavericks
GREAT Matchup. This series will go deep. I am going to go for the upset. I like the Spurs in Seven because they have a better "core" team.
#6 Blazers vs. #3 Suns
Another series that should go deep. I think the Suns will win the series but it will take Seven Games.
#5 Jazz vs. #4 Nuggets
This series should be an explosive one. Two even teams going at it. The Nuggets have more experience so I will take them in the deciding Game 7.
NHL Playoffs
Just a game or two in for each series and the NHL Playoffs have already proven why they are the most exciting and unpredictable in all of Professional Sports.
Montreal upsets the #1 Seed Capitals in an Overtime Thriller in Game 1.
The Flyers managed to split the Devils on the road in the first two games.
The Sabres and Bruins had an exciting Game 1.
The Senators upset the Penguins in Game 1 and played them tough in Game 2.
The #1 Seed of the West, the Sharks, lost Game 1 to the Avalanche and it took overtime for them to get revenge in Game 2.
The Coyotes, who I expected to get swept by the Red Wings, won Game 1. Game 2 last night was thrilling. It seemed like goals were getting scored every two seconds.
The Kings and Canucks had a solid Game 1 with the Canucks winning and the #7 Seed Predators upset the #2 Seed Blackhawks in the first game.
Wow! Stay tuned....
MLB
The Yankees are off to a great start. They won two of three to tough teams like the Red Sox and Rays on the road, and took two out of three in their first Home Series to the Rangers. Usually the Yankees always have slow starts to their season but this year, they are starting it off on the right foot.
The Blue Jays are also off to a great start.
I'm just glad baseball season is back.
Utica College Water Polo
Exciting News! The Utica College Water Polo Team will be hosting the Division III Championships on April 23rd, 24th, and the 25th. I accidentally called the Championships "The Empire 8" Championships in my Tangerine article. It's really the "Division III" Championships.
The Utica College Water Polo Team will play at 9:00 AM on Friday April 23rd at the UC Pool. It's a good thing I don't have class until 10:30 am on Fridays.
Good luck to the Water Polo Team!
UC Football
The Utica College Football team are doing their Spring Practices. They are open to the fans so if you guys have nothing to do, relax and watch the UC Football Team prepare for next season.

....The Swamp Donkeys defeated Team Autism 5-4. We were down 5-0 at the half but rallied for four goals in the second half. Our rally fell short and we lost. I was talking trash to the Swamp Donkeys all week. It seems that every-time I talk trash, it backfires on me.
We also lost our Floor Hockey Game 9-2. I gave up nine goals. I need to learn to stay my ground and not dive down for the loose ball, that' what caused us. Thank you Field Hockey team for letting us play with them.
Team Autism will defend their Whiffleball Ball Championship in a couple of weeks. My friend Matthew Galbraith recruited the Field Hockey team to play for us. Thanks Matt!
Time to watch the ending of a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episode that is currently on while I was typing this.
I'm the Autistic Sports Nerd, have a good day guys!

The Autistic Sports Nerd's Blog #48
Hey guys, the Autistic Sports Nerd here. It has been a strange, emotional, fun, happy, tragic, you name it-these last few weeks. Let's get right into it.
NCAA Basketball
Congrats to Duke for winning the national title. Last year it was North Carolina, this year it's Duke. Hey North Carolina State, this pattern could mean that you guys will win the National Title next year......maybe not.
Golf
Congratulations to Phil Mickelson for winning the 2010 Masters Golf Tournament. I have a lot of family members, including my brother Stephen and Grandpa John, who are huge golf fans. I'm not big into watching golf but I have always rooted for Mickelson because my grandfather roots for him. My grandfather roots for Mickelson because he is a lefty like him. Grandpa, you must be very happy now.
Y.E Yang, who beat Tiger in the PGA Championship last August (I watched that event with Stephen and Grandpa John at Grandpa's house in Long Island), finished tied for eight.
Tiger Woods finished tied for fourth. No, I will not be making any Tiger Woods jokes.
NHL
Do I have to write this? I have no choice. Let's get this over with....
The Rangers and Flyers played each other in the final regular season game even in points. The two teams were battling for the Eight and Final Playoff Spot in the Eastern Conference. Two nights earlier, the rangers beat the Flyers 4-3 at the Garden to even it up in the standings. This time in Philly, it was all on the line. The winner goes to the Playoffs, and the loser goes home.
The Rangers and Flyers were tied up at one. The game went into overtime. I was a nervous wreck the whole game. This is equivalent to a Game 7 in the Playoffs. It WAS a Game 7.
Overtime could not decide the game, so we went to a shootout. A shootout to decide a team's playoff fate, grrrrr.
Unfortunately, Henrik Lunqvuest (who played one HELL of a game in regulation and in overtime) had a rare off-performance in the shootout and gave up two goals in three rounds. The Rangers lost, the Flyers are in the playoffs. I thought the Rangers' season was finished three weeks prior when they lost at Boston. Then they went on a hot streak.
My frustrating growl was transforming into a triumphant roar. Our goal-scoring was up. We were climbing up in the standings. We played at a higher energy....we just fell short in the shootout.
Here are my Playoff First Round Predictions
Eastern Conference
#8 Canadians vs. #1 Capitals
The Caps may be the President Trophy winners, but they play in by far the easiest division in the NHL. They have mediocre goal-tending and a suspect defense. The Canadians are a fast team that loves to clog the ice. I will take the Canadians to upset the Capitals in Seven Games.
#7 Flyers vs. #2 Devils
Don't let the seeding fool you. These are two rivals going at it. Both teams know each other so well. It should be a great series and an even battle but New Jersey has the edge in goal-tending. I'll take the Devils in a deciding Game Seven.
#6 Bruins vs. #3 Sabres
These two teams know each other well, being North-East Division Rivals and all. The Sabres have the hot goalie in Ryan Miller. Boston's a great team defensively but they are also the worst scoring team in the league. My Pick: Sabres in Six.
#5 Senators vs. #4 Penguins
The Senators are banged up and Pittsburgh is a fast and talented team. I will take the Penguins in Five.
Western Conference
#8 Avalanche vs. #1 Sharks
The Sharks need to play good because they always falter in the Playoffs after always playing well in the regular season. I think they'll get off to a good start in this round. Colorado won't be easy but I like the Sharks to win it in six.
#7 Predators vs. #2 Blackhawks
The Hawks are young and talented. They are dangerous. They are also a very exciting team to watch. I think they will sweep the Predators.
#6 Kings vs. #3 Canucks
What a match-up.I am actually saying this for personal reason. I have had an interest in the Canucks during the mid 1990's because I knew even when I was young that they were the team the Rangers beat in the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals. I always had a fond interest in the Canucks because of that. I loved their "Planet Saturn" logo they had at the time. As I have said many times before, I LOVED the Kings when I was younger (not as much as the Rangers) because of their logo and team colors.
I was always fascinated in their jerseys and logo they had during the mid 90's. They were also involved in the very first "non-Ranger" game I ever watched when they hsted the Might Ducks on ESPN during the 1994-1995 season. Both the Canucks and Kings cureent logo and jersies aren't as good as their old ones were but it's so funny that these two teams are playing each other in the playoffs. I hope one of them wins the Stanley Cup this year since the Rangers are out of it.
Oh yeah, I like the Canucks in seven.
#5 Red Wings vs. #4 Coyotes
As Utica College Hockey Captain and Detroit Red Wings' #1 Fan Aaron Jeffrey always says, "The Red Wings are a dynasty." The Coyotes are the most surprising team in the NHL, but they have no playoff experience. The Red Wings are also Red-Hot. They are peeking at the right time. I like the Red Wings to sweep the Coyotes.
NBA
NBA Playoffs begin this weekend, if I am not mistaken. I'll post my NBA picks at the end of the week before the first playoff game begins.
MLB
Baseball is back! The Yankees take two out of three from Boston and two out of three from Tampa, all on the road. The Yankees home-opener is tomorrow afternoon against the Angels where they will get their World Series Rings. Matsui, returning to the stadium as an Angel, will be able to participate in the ceremony and receive his ring. Good for him!
CC was so close to pitching a no hitter. Just four outs short.
The Giants are off to a great start over in the National League. They may not have a good lineup but they can pitch. This team is my dark horse this year.
The Houston Astros are currently 0-7. Houston....we have a problem.
Intramurals
Team Autism competed in an Intramural Floor Hockey Contest against the Field Hockey team. Last year, Team Autism got their first ever victory against that very team in that very sport. Would things be different this year?
Aaron Jeffrey, Matthew Galbraith, Gonzalo Salama, and Fernando joined the team as well as Jodie and Elyse, the latter two we recruited at the last second because we were short of player. I was the goal-tender. We played well. My teammates provided good pressure. I had a feeling Jodie was a female hockey player. The limit is one male and female hockey player per team. At the end of the first half, Matthew told me that there were two female hockey players and one male hockey player on the team.
Turns out Elyse was a hockey player too. It may have been an accident but we were all "cheating." Matthew suggested we should forfeit at the end of the game and I agreed with him. We played the second half anyway just to finish the game. We won 7-3. After-wards, we as a team confessed to the Jim Murnane, who runs the league.
We still felt great. We played a great game and Team Autism won, even though we won't advance in the tournament. It was cool being Aaron Jeffery's teammate in Floor Hockey and it was cool that he got to play a game for Team Autism. If it wasn't for Jodie and Elyse, we would have been short of players and we would not have been able to play at all. Thank you guys for playing with us!
I called Alex Carletta, the captain of the Field Hockey team, later that night to tell her that her team was moving on after all. She invited our team to play on their team in the next round. We accepted. Jim approved of it but we can't bring any of our hockey teammates on their since that would be too much. Matthew, Gonzalo, Fernando, and I will be playing with the Field Hockey team for the remainder of the tournament as we combine forces to try and win a Championship.
In soccer news, Team Autism is also playing Indoor Soccer. Last year, we were eliminated in the First Round, as we lost 11-1. That was the first game team Autism ever played in Intramurals. This year, I pulled out all the stops. I recruited the Hockey freshman, Hockey juniors, two friends from the Men's Soccer team, two friends from the Women's Soccer team, Matthew Galbraith, and professors who played overseas.
I wore my blue ti-died shirt that my brother Nicky made for me for Autism Awareness Month. I also wore my Autism Speaks Hat. Our team uniforms are blue. We played in a play-in game earlier this evening against PMD. We won 14-4. Next up, Swamp Donkeys which consists of Senior Hockey Players.
A Hockey Team has won the last two Indoor Soccer Championships. The Hockey Juniors (current Alumni) won my freshman year while the freshman (currently sophomores)won it last year.
The Swamp Donkeys are a franchise that has been around for four years with the same players. On Wednesday, Team Autism takes on the Swamp Donkeys in the "official" first round game. Aaron Jeffrey and the rest of the Swamp Donkeys.....The Autistic Sports Nerd is calling you guys out!
Team Autism will end your franchise on our way to the Championship! It's on!
Jeffery and I were chirping each other earlier about Wednesday's Showdown. Team Autism-Swamp Donkeys, Wednesday April 14th at 9:10pm in the Gym. It's go time!
Walk for Autism
I want to thank everyone for participating in the Walk for Autism this past Saturday at the Kelberman Center. A lot of people came. The Hockey team, Field Hockey team, Football team, both Soccer teams, My Chi Beta Sisters, Nick Bonacci, and a whole variety of student organizations participated in the walk. When I addressed the crowd at Air-band that night before I did my dancing skit, I mentioned "The Walk for Autism" and the crowd gave a heavy cheer in response. Thank you guys so much!
I also want to thank Jonathan Monfiletto and Patrica Louise for all of their guidance and support. I wouldn't be where I am as a writer without you guys. Thank you guys so much.
I'm the Autistic Sports Nerd, have a good night guys!

The Autistic Sports Nerd's Tribute to Chris "Kanyon" Klucsarits
Hey guys, this week I pay tribute to a very talented performer and more importantly, a great person.
My cousin Chris Klucsarits tragically passed away a few days ago. A lot of people knew him as former pro-wrestler Chris Kanyon.
Chris got a degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Buffalo. He was a very talented physical therapist. He always had dreams of wrestling so he decided at the last second to pursue a career in professional wrestling.
He started his career by wrestling with family members. I remember watching an old video tape of Kanyon, my dad, and uncles wrestling each other in my grandparents' pool. That was how Kanyon started with wrestling in a sense.
I saw a lot of Kanyon's matches in the mid 90's but he lost a lot of them. He was a talented performer but he was always booked to lose matches. He was considered a "jobber" which means that you are a wrestler used to lose matches to the bigger stars in the company. We finally were able to see Chris get his first pro victory on television. My grandparents' were babysitting my younger brother Stephen and I. They brought the tape of Chris having a match with the Disco Inferno. He won! We were so happy to see him win.
In March of 1997, Chris had a new gimmick in WCW. He wore a skeleton mask, and skeleton clothing. He called himself, Mortis based off of the Scorpion Character in Mortal Kombat. My dad and I watched his first match as Mortis taking on Glacier, who had an undefeated streak in wrestling. He never lost. Keep in mind, I thought wrestling was real at the time. It was a great match but Glacier won and was still undefeated.
Mortis and his tag team partner Wrath had a long feud with Glacier and his partner Ernest "The Cat" Miller. The big blow-off to their feud occurred at WCW Bash at the Beach in 1997. In a combination of one on one matches leading to that pay-per-view, Glacier's team always won. But in the tag-team match, Mortis pinned Glacier to end Glacier's undefeated streak. I couldn't watch the PPV but when I saw the results listed in the newspaper, I was so happy.
On February 12th 1998, it was my brother Stephen's 7th birthday and the family and relatives were watching WCW Thunder. Mortis was battling Diamond Dallas Page (his close friend in real life) for the United States Championship. Mortis would get the title AND a spot in Raven's Flock. (A wrestling Stable) It was a well executed match but DDP won. After the match, Raven DDT'd Mortis on the ramp, and that was the end of the Mortis character.
Months later, Chris would return to the ring to get revenge against Raven. At Slamboree (WCW's May PPV) Raven lost a Steel Cage match to DDP. After the match Mortis came in with his mask, then took it off to reveal his true identity. He was now Chris Kanyon. Kanyon had Raven strapped to the cage. He took a chair and whacked Raven with it. I saw that moment at my grandparents' house. It was amazing!
June 15th, 1998. I went to my first wrestling event. It was WCW Monday Nitro at the Nassau Coliseum. I saw Kanyon perform live. He took on Sick Boy from Raven's Flock. Kanyon won the match. AT the time he was a baby-face or "face" for short which meant his character was a good guy. Later in the event, he wore a hat and came to hang out with us in the crowd. The fans started to recognize him so he had to leave quickly.
In 1999, my family and I went to Nitro again at the Nassau Coliseum. Kanyon's character was a heel this time meaning a bad guy. During the event, it was announced that Kanyon, DDP, and Bam Bam Bigelow (They were a group called the "Jersey Triad) would take on at the time "World Heavyweight Champion" Hulk Hogan and Bill Goldberg in a three on two handicapped match in the main event.
We were all hyped. We were jumping up and down, it was incredible. We saw Kanyon wrestle with a legend. Hogan and Goldberg won the match but that was an incredible moment to see Kanyon Main Eventing in person against the wrestling icon, Hulk Hogan. After the match Kanyon got Bigelow to wave at us which was really cool.
Kanyon took a dive from the top of a cage to the ground to close out a PPV. I'll show you guys the highlight on YouTube in a link below.
When WCW was bought out by the WWE (then called the WWF) Kanyon was among the WCW wrestlers to join WWE. He not only won the WCW United States Championship but he also won the WWE Tag-Team Titles with Diamond Dallas Page against Farooq and Bradshaw of the Acolytes. They also won the Tag-Team Titles back in WCW with Bam Bam Bigelow, as the titles were split amongst the three of them.
We went to a WWE House Show (Meaning it wasn't aired on television) in August of 2001. Kanyon and DDP faced the Acolytes in a rematch for the Tag-Team Titles. Kanyon and DDP successfully defended their titles by winning the match. They lost the belts to Kane and the Undertaker in a Tag-Team Steel Cage match at the Summer Slam PPV in late August of 2001.
Kanyon was also in two movies. He was in the Jesse Ventura movie playing a role of a wrestler and he was also a stuntman in the movie "Ready to Rumble" back in 2000 which starred David Arquette. He was a stunt Coordinator as well for Ready to Rumble.
He also trained Celebrities like Dennis Roddman, Karl Malone, and Jay Leno since each of them had wrestled a match in WCW at least one time in their careers. (No doubt it was WCW's idea of a publicity stunt.) Kanyon has also trained a lot of WWE stars that are big to this day.
When my mom and cousin Denise went to Atlanta Georgia years back, Chris took them out on the town and people couldn't believe it was him in person. My mom and my cousin kept laughing because everybody in the bars would get intimidated by his large, tough looking appearance and quickly realized what a nice, sweet guy he was.
Even though my mother thought wrestling was silly, she was always rooting for Kanyon with us. "I personally think she was a wrestling fan at heart."
Despite all the details of Chris as a wrestler, he was an even better person. We would spent every Christmas at my grandparents' house and on Father's Day, we would have our annual family whiffleball game and we all loved it and the holidays and life will never be the same without him.
Growing up having a famous wrestler in our family was the coolest thing in the world for myself, my brothers, my sister, and my cousins and we adored him.
Kanyon's gimmick was that he would ask "Who's Better than Kanyon?" And the answer was nobody.
Well Chris, nobody was better than you. Rest in Peace Cousin. I love you.
I apologize for all of the mistakes. It's really late and this is tough to write.

Kanyon falls off the top of the cage
